V-Day Fort Worth Mission

V-Day Fort Worth is a community of dedicated advocates, artist and volunteers. We create events to bring men and women together to raise awareness and funds to end the violence against women and girls.
Proceeds from our events are donated to local organizations that are providing solutions and services to women and girls. Violence affects one in three women in the U.S and around the world. V-Day Fort Worth joined the national movement in 2003 and has raised over $73,000 that has been donated to The Battered Women’s Foundation, The Women’s Center of FW, SaveHaven, Freedom House, Truth Be Told, The Northside Inter-Church Agency and Opening Doors for Women in Need!
and will continue until the violence stops...
V-Day Fort Worth is a collaborative group of volunteers who are concerned citizens. We are men and women whose mission is to collaborate with the V Day Worldwide Campaign to end violence against women and girls by:
PUBLIC EDUCATION
Our goals are to:
- Raise awareness and funds for local social service agency (s) that assist women and girls of violence
- Organizing performance and visual arts of real life testimonies of women and girls around the world
- Supporting and encouraging victims to continue to live their lives by providing community resources
- To motivate women and girls to speak up now, for another woman or girl or form themselves that violence will not be tolerated at all
National V-Day Global Campaign
In addition to the local, women's charities that we support with the funds we raise from our V-Day performance, we contribute 10% of what we raise to the National V-Day Global Campaign. In 2012, V-Day's Spotlight Campaign will be on the Women and Girls of Haiti. The Spotlight will highlight the high levels of violence against women and girls in Haiti, and will focus on the increased rates of sexual violence since the devastating earthquake that took place in January 2010. Visit the National V-Day website for more information about the National Campaign.
